NEW! Craig's List Fundraiser

posted Sep 9, 2014, 4:15 PM by Coach Bridget   [ updated Dec 28, 2015, 8:38 AM by Alpharetta Lacrosse ]
The Alpharetta Lacrosse Club (ALC) is proud to announce a new fundraiser for 2014 and 2015.  We will be accepting donations to the club that we will then sell on Craigslist and retain the profits for the club.  One of our parents, Teresa Hill, has generously offered to manage the program for us.  By day, Teresa manages this process for the Foster Care Support Foundation in Atlanta.  Here is how it will work:

Contact Teresa Hill (alpharettalacrosseclub@gmail.com) to let her know you have an item(s) to donate.  She will work with you to arrange the drop-off of the item(s) at her home.  Please note that larger items may need to stay at the donor’s home until the sale is finalized.

The ALC has been organized as a tax-exempt entity and has requested approval from IRS of its tax-exempt status.  As soon as we have a final determination, we will communicate this info to all donors.  Teresa will inform the donor what the item sells for which is what the donor should deduct on his or her return.

Teresa will photograph and place the item on Craigslist.  She will handle any negotiations with the seller and manage the transaction.  Teresa will consult with the ALC board on any questions of posting, pricing, discounting, etc.

Here are some suggested items as well as items we will not take as part of the program.

Furniture:  bed frames, dressers, nightstands, couch, sofa, loveseat, kitchen table w/chairs, bar stools, bookshelves, mirrors, outdoor furniture, baby beds, toddler beds, bed frames, bed rails, china cabinets, coffee tables, ping-pong table, pool table, file cabinets, etc.

Working Appliances refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, toaster oven, bread machine, etc.  (Please note: appliances must be in working order)

Sporting Goods:  lax sticks, gloves, sports nets, stand-up basketball hoops, golf clubs, bowling balls, skateboards, penny boards, bicycles, motorcycles, etc.  They sell a lot of the adjustable basketball hoops (kind most people have on their driveways) and they sell very fast!

Designer Handbags (must be actual designer bag, no counterfeit bags allowed)

Miscellaneous Items:  fish and reptile aquariums, hamster/gerbil containers, garden tools, dog kennels/crates, tires, air-soft guns and equipment or clothing, outdoor wood play/swing sets, dish sets, cabinets, lighting, etc.

Items We Will NOT Consider:  mattresses, miscellaneous clothing or shoes, computers, printers, cell phones, organs (due to weight), anything broken.

We are ready to start now. Please consider donating any unwanted items for a great cause.

Lastly, a HUGE THANK YOU to Teresa for offering her time and talents in helping the lacrosse club.  Her volunteer spirit and willingness to take on this project is invaluable to the club and the program.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
